Covid-19 Updates

Current Update from the Library Director 10/21/2022

Based on recent encouraging trends in COVID cases reported by the Washtenaw County Health Department, beginning Friday, October 21:

  •  Mask requirements for library staff members now depend on Washtenaw County’s COVID-19 Community Level. Masks are optional for staff members when the level is Medium or Low. They are required for staff members when the level is High.

Other COVID protocols remain the same:

  •  Masks are strongly recommended for all members of the public in the library. We continue to ask anyone who is not feeling well, or who knows that they have been exposed to COVID, to please not come into the library.
  •  Social distancing is still mandatory for all. Please maintain at least 3 feet distance from other library users and library staff and respect that library staff members may need to remain behind Plexiglas barriers at our service desks at times.
  •  WCHD Isolation & Quarantine guidelines are still in effect. Please do not come into the library if you have tested positive for or exhibited symptoms of COVID-19.

Please remember that, as we have seen over the past two years, the COVID-19 virus can be unpredictable. Future variants and/or increases in countywide transmission rates could make new safety protocols and requirements necessary.

We hope that local trends continue to stay encouraging and that we are all moving toward a healthier future!

See you at the library,

Karrie Waarala
Library Director
